Marin Elizabeth Leggat (Guest Choreographer) received a BA in Dance Education and Sociology from Brigham Young University and an MFA in Dance from the University of Utah. She teaches studio courses in contemporary technique, improvisation, composition, movement for actors, and lecture courses addressing issues of dance and social identity. In NYC, she founded M.E.L.D. Danceworks, a dance company committed to “dissolving religious and cultural barriers through the art of dance.” The State Department named Ms. Leggat a U.S. Cultural Envoy to India in 2008. Other workshops and residencies have been taught at the Kali-Kalisu Arts Education Conference in India, the Royal University of Fine Arts in Cambodia, and at SUNY Purchase. Marin is an active musical theater choreographer and a former high school dance educator.
